TSA Luggage Lock

TSA Luggage Lock Video Clips. Duration : 0.72 Mins.

The TSA approved luggage locks can be taken apart to make keys for. Once a key is made for one, it can work on all TSA locks of its type. Blank keys can be purchased for the TSA 002 luggage lock at local hardware stores. Whats shown in the video is a key I cut for the lock by taking another TSA 002 apart, and then just a key blank. Both keys work equally well. Some TSA locks use a more restrictive key type, like the TSA 003, where blanks can not be purchased. For locks where the blanks could not be purchased someone would need to make the key from either sheet metal, or in the case of the 003, a small metal rod. Some luggage locks allow you to tell if they have been opened by a tsa key. They can be bypassed in other ways, likely within 20 or 30 seconds. Luggage locks are nearly all insecure, but TSA approved ones are even more so. A TSA lock probably should only be used for airport travel. After leaving the airport a different luggage lock should be used for better security against surreptitious entry.
